Common questions relating to Woodingdean Lease Extensions

  • I'm planning to make an offer on a house in Woodingdean but I'm concerned about it being leasehold. Do you know what title absolute means and is this regarding the lease? Also, we have asked to see a copy of the lease but the homeowner said they might not have it. We are worried about restrictions, and dont know what to do. We have also been approved for the mortgage but the lender doesn't know its leasehold. Do houses qualify for lease extension? Will this affect The Royal Bank of Scotland giving us the mortgage now?
  • The intention is to sell our ground floor flat in Woodingdean but we may need a lease extension, or at least cover the costs of our buyers. Can you recommend someone to handle this?
  • I'm thinking of buying a two bedroom second floor purpose built maisonette (leasehold) but the landlord has been missing for nearly 15yrs. I wonder whether it will be cheaper to try to purchase the freehold or to extend lease and apply for RTM?
  • I own a leasehold apartment in Woodingdean. I have built a big extension and have not informed the freeholder. What are my options?
  • I am concerned that my daughter might be having the wool pulled over her eyes. She submitted an offer on a one bedroom ground floor purpose built flat in Woodingdean, where the lease is around 58 years but she was advised by the selling agents that the owner had extended it to 99 years. She has now been told the owner was holding off for her to instruct lawyers ahead of instigating the lease extension. Seems devious, also it may take time to sort it all out. Am I being too sceptical?
  • Ref a property in Woodingdean. upper maisonette. 76 yrs left. I have negotiated a lease extension price of £14k for 135yrs. Freeholder also requested Initial Notice which I think should not be necessary. Advice required.
  • We have owned a leasehold flat for about eighteen years. It now has 79 years left on the lease. Following a year of protracted negotiations through my and, mainly, surveyor I now have an offer from the landlord. I am at a decision point on whether to accept it or go to LVT and would appreciate some independent thoughts.
  • It says on your website the likely fee for dealing with a lease extension is £495. Is that the all inclusive cost excluding vat and the land registry fee? The premium has already been negotiated with the freeholder for the lease extension for my garden flat in Woodingdean
  • I'm intent on acquiring a flat in Woodingdean at a price of £256,000 the flat has something like sixety two years left on the lease. I put in an offer conditional upon a lease extension... .. that was back in June, expecting I'd have moved in by Christmas. They have just informed me that they are prepared to knock £3k off if I deal with the lease extension myself. I'm not sure whether that's a good idea
