I will soon view a two bedroom apartment, although not exactly my perfect property it has enough positives to suit me very well for my present situation. However after obtaining a copy of the title I've learnt that it only has 75 years left on the lease. It is also a repo so I'm guessing that the bank will not be interested in extending the lease. My primary concern is would it be difficult to sell on without a lease extension?

We are hoping to acquire a property (a garden flat inWindsor with share of freehold). During our search, we were always looking at apartments that had a minimum 84 years balance left. We identified a flat we fell in love with and the estate agent assured that the lease was long albeit not specifying a number. This morning our conveyancing practitioners told us the lease only has 79 years and thus requires a lease extension. Should we walk away, or should we reduce our offer?
I own the freehold reversion of a property in Windsor where the leaseholder would like a lease extension. Her so called valuation expert has provided a figure of £8,000, but has upped this by £2,000 without too much effort. My valuer has suggested a much higher premium. Negotiations have broken down so it looks at though we need to go to a FTT. If a lease extension does go to tribunal, can I handle the matter myself, just armed with the valuations I have? If not, what costs would I be likely to face?
We currently own a three bed flat in Windsor and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has seventy years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 15k plus to get a lease extension. Can you offer some advice on this? Should I contact the landlord first and will they be able to give me a cost?
