I have just purchased a three bed apartment inWindlesham and I'm deliberating a lease extension as soon as practicable e.g. in a couple of years
I bought a flat in Windlesham with a leasehold unexpired roughly fivety seven years and need a lease extension. Please can you advise me of the next steps
This flat I have in mind requires only ground rent. Long lease so no lease extension required. I have asked the estate agents as to what happens to building insurance and responsibility for communal areas and if one of the two flats which make up the property wants to make alterations. They said they did not know. I cannot see how one could get buildings insurance for the whole building shared with another flat, either downstairs or upstairs. I do need to clarify things like this before I undertake all the expenses involved in purchasing a property I feel. Do freeholders actually supply their own insurance?
I own a maisonnette together with the freehold title. My downstairs neighbours have asked for a lease extension what do I need to do?
I am considering buying an auction property and came upon a two bed flat in Windlesham. It has just 48 year lease..the seller being mortgagees in possession dont want to mess around with negotiating a lease extension..what are the disadvantages of this except for the costly fee to extend the lease and decreased chance of getting a mortgage with Barnsley Building Society?
We would like to extend our lease having owned the flat for 2 years as of 22nd May 2016. It has circa sixety seven years remaining currently. Hoping to get a lease extension with a further 90 years as expeditiously and stress free as is reasonably achievable.
Me and my husband had entered into a purchase of a one bed flat in Windlesham. I was advised by the EA that the lease extension had already been completed while on a viewing (70 years unexpired lease prior to extension). The description on the listing said "sold with a long lease". It transpires at the point of exchange of contracts we find that the lease has not been extended. The flat owner supposedly has a quote but no funds to extend as a result the owner wants to exchange and use the my deposit to extend the lease. My question is how is possible that the estate agent got it so wrong?
I am planning to get a lease extension and am wondering what step I have to do first, I have been previously advised that I have to have the finances in place before I commence the process, is this correct?
