Willingham Lease Extensions: Q and A’s
We have seen a house for sale for £195k and we are very keen on but we've just discovered that it is leasehold. There are 899 years balance left so a lease extension is not a concern. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this correct? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for twenty years without owning the property. Any information would be much appreciated.
I own a maisonnette and the freehold. The owners of the downstairs flat have asked for a lease extension what do I need to do?
We bought a leasehold with a freeholder who has failed to respond by way of a counter-notice for a lease extension for our flat in Willingham and are therefore thinking about the option of a vesting order. Is this something you can handle for us?
We have a ground floor flat in Willingham with seventy two years unexpired. Ten months ago we were quoted a deal to receive a lease extension for a further 25 years but also uplift the ground rent from notional to a little more..plus a premium I think of about 14k. Finally we have decided to move forward but do we now have to start the negotiations again?
I intend to buy a one bed flat in Willingham for asking price of 156k, which has fivety six years lease left on it. Seller doesn't want to extend the lease for even if I were to pay the money to the seller. My question is: If landlord does not agree to a marriage value (part of lease extension fees) of surveyor, how lengthy and difficult is the process of going down the route of Leasehold Valuation Tribunal?
My and my fiance are concerned about seeking a lease extension from an objectionable landlord. Regardless of the fact that the correct procedures were adhered to under the appropriate legislation, the landlord still tried to get ground rent of £250 increasing by 100% every twenty five years of the new lease. Can you assist?
Are you able to provide an estimate to extend my mum’s lease on a three bed flat in Willingham. She recently got a figure from the landlord for a lease extension but I am not sure it is too expensive.
I have seventy two years remaining on my lease of a ground floor flat in Willingham, the Landlord requires a £15k premium for a statutory lease extension of 90yrs. I am looking for advice on whether this amount is acceptable
I am currently negotiating a lease extension for my flat in Willingham as it is coming up to the 80 year mark. As I understood it, if you extend your lease by the 90 years available, you pay a premium (£thousands) but the ground rent is reduced to a peppercorn. I am now told that I have to continue paying ground rent. I thought the major cost of a lease extension was to compensate the freeholder as they wouldn't be collecting ground rent anymore?
I have a lease of sixety eight years remaining on my flat in Willingham. We are looking for a lease extension, so we contacted our freehold company and they came back with a quote that was double the amount and half the extension time that the lease extension calculator provided. Is there anyway, without racking up a huge legal bill, we can ask the freehold company to provide their computation of the amount and how they derived to it?
