FAQs concerning Torrington Lease Extensions
I agreed with the freeholder for a lease extension on our flat located in Torrington, 15k for an extension by 90yrs. How long will it take ?
Hello, I just randomly found your site. I'm seeking prices on what a lease extension will cost for a one bedroom apartment located in Torrington. It's up for sale at the moment but has about seventy six years outstanding on the lease
We have seen a house for sale for £185,000 and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 928 years remaining so a lease extension is not required. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this correct? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without the house being ours. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
My co-lessees and I are in a building made up three flats in Torrington and have been offered to buy the freehold for 5k per flat rather than go for lease extensions. We are all in agreement that we want to do this but how do we get started and what is the likely cost?
My OH and I had entered into a purchase of a ground floor flat in Torrington. I was advised by the EA that the lease extension had already been completed while on a viewing (69 years outstanding prior to extension). The sales particulars stated "sold with a long lease". It transpires at the point of exchange of contracts we find that there has been no lease extension. The seller supposedly has a quote but no funds to extend and consequently the current owner wants to exchange and use the 10% deposit for the lease extension. My question is as the lease hasn't been extended is there not a danger that it would breach my lenders lease length criteria?
Me and my sister have owned a leasehold flat for around fifteen years. There are 54 years outstanding on the lease. After a year of difficult negotiations through my solicitors and, mainly, surveyor I now have an offer from the freeholder. I now have to make a decision as to whether to accept it or go to a Tribunal and would welcome advice.
I'm living with my parents but have a 2 bed flat in Torrington let out which has a 72 year lease. Mortgage broker said I can remortgage as a buy to let instead of consent to let and release 55-60k which on top of a new mortgage based on my income. Not much about in Torrington for me to get my own place. If I sell I will only get 150-160 due to tenant (8 months left on AST) and lease. A lease extension will cost 21k. Not sure sure whether to hold on or sell the flat?
I am the registered freeholder to two flats. Someone has the lease on the lower flat in Torrington. I reside in the top flat. I was looking at the land registry documents today when I noticed that my flat is leasehold. There is seventy five years residual lease term. If I want to do a lease extension then would I just be paying for the solicitors fees?
I have 67 years remaining on my lease of a ground floor flat in Torrington, the Landlord requires a £15k premium for a statutory lease extension of 90yrs. I am looking for advice on whether this amount is acceptable
We have a ground floor flat in Torrington with a lease of 56 years left with a value of around £370000 we want to add 90 years to it, how much is that likely to cost?
