Tickton Lease Extensions: Q and A’s
We are thinking about a lease extension for our two bed flat based in Tickton and we are confused by the communication that we got from our freehold company. How long will it take?
My wife has an apartment located in Tickton which we are about to put on the market. The leasehold has nearly 62 years balance left on it and we are concerned this will come up for anyone who may be interested. I am after more information on how we commence arranging a lease extension? Thank you.
We have seen a house for sale for £215k and we are very keen on but we've just discovered that it is leasehold. There are 798 years balance left so a lease extension is not a worry. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without the house being ours. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
This flat I have in mind requires only ground rent. Long lease so no lease extension required. I have asked the estate agents as to what happens to building insurance and responsibility for communal areas and if one of the two flats which make up the property wants to make alterations. They said they did not know. I cannot see how one could get buildings insurance for the whole building shared with another flat, either downstairs or upstairs. I do need to clarify things like this before I undertake all the expenses involved in purchasing a property I feel. Do freeholders actually supply their own insurance?
I own a maisonnette together with the freehold. The owners of the upstairs flat have asked for a lease extension what do I need to do?
I am looking at bidding for an auction property and identified a studio flat in Tickton. It has just 48 year lease..the vendor as mortgagees in possession will not want to mess around with applying for a lease extension..what are the disadvantages of this other than the huge fee to put a new lease on it and decreased chance of getting a mortgage with Norwich and Peterborough Building Society?
My conveyancers (separately handling my lease extension) said I need a licence to alter given that I wish to carry out a loft extension to my property. Is this strictly required given that I have a share of the freehold. I've informally discussed the loft conversion with my co-freeholder some time ago and he had no objection once I reassured him that if my builder damages the roof I won't expect the co-freeholder to pay for future repairs to the roof. Assuming I need formal consent should I get the licence to alter and then start the lease extension process?
I am planning to extend the lease on my maisonette in Tickton I am looking for a local company to calculate the premium. I have a premium value that the freeholder has given me. I would like to go forward as soon as possible, but for the right premium and fee.
I am the freeholder of a Georgian property split into two flats. I live in the upper flat and my neighbour in the lower flat. My neighbour has approached me for a lease extension from the current sixety years. What are my next steps?
I own the freehold of a couple of flats. Someone has the lease on the ground flat in Tickton. I occupy in the top flat. I was looking at the land registry documents recently when I noticed that my flat has a lease on it. There is seventy six years left. Can one do a lease extension without retaining a property lawyers?
