I am looking for a rough estimate of what a lease extension will cost for a flat I would like to buy. It has 58 years left.
We have seen a house for sale for £195k and we are very keen on but we've just discovered that it is leasehold. There are 899 years unexpired so a lease extension is not an issue. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for twenty years without owning the property. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I am looking into the costs of carrying out a lease extension for my maisonette in Stafford, and would like some figures on that.
We are the registered owners of a leasehold with a freeholder who has failed to give us a counter-notice for a lease extension for our flat in Stafford and are therefore considering the option of a vesting order. Is this something you can help us with?
I am deliberating whether to purchase the freehold or a lease extension of my property in Stafford and have been in touch with the freeholder, have had quote for around £4k to extend the lease. I plan to simultaneously get a new mortgage with Accord Mortgages Ltd to free up equity. My adviser handling the remortgage suggested I get two estimates : one for the lease extension and one for the freehold purchase .The lease started in 1991 and since then the ground rent has been raised from £25.00 per year to £200 per year.
I'm looking for an apartment to purchase in Stafford and I'm not really familiar with the leasehold title. I've found a maisonette I like with a 87 years lease. My research reveals that I can go for a lease extension after 2 years, but:- Is this a given?
I have a share of the freehold. There are three apartments in the block. All the leaseholders are now requiring lease extensions. What's your legal fee?
My (separately handling my lease extension) said I need a licence to alter given that I wish to carry out a loft extension to my property. Is this strictly required given that I have a share of the freehold. I've informally discussed the loft conversion with my co-freeholder some time ago and he had no objection once I reassured him that if my builder damages the roof I won't expect the co-freeholder to pay for future repairs to the roof. Assuming I need formal consent should I get the licence to alter and then start the lease extension process?
We wanted an estimate on the cost of a lease extension and a few more questions answered regarding a lease extension for my studio flat in Stafford
I'm looking for some advice with regard to a lease extension on my three bedroom second floor purpose built maisonette in Stafford. I'll be looking to do this sometime next year as we need to move at some point then. Unfortunately the current lease is now very short and therefore I'm guessing it'll be expensive to extend. I'm also thinking that I'll probably have to go down the tribunal route. Should I look to extend it now or wait until I sell my place and have it all tied in with the property sale?
