Hello, I stumbled upon this website. I'm looking for prices on what it cost to extend a lease of a garden flat in Sprowston. It's on sale at the moment but has around 74 years of unexpired leasehold
I plan on buying a flat based in Sprowston. My offer is conditional upon a lease extension. The owner’s lawyers has given to the freeholder the Section 42 Notice. Once this notice has been accepted by the freeholder, it is possible for the lessee to assign the benefit of that notice to me, the buyer, so that the buyer “stands in the shoes” of the Lessee, so to speak. I was wondering if this could be a problem for the mortgage lender TSB. Moreover, which are the following lease extension steps to complete the purchase?
I am concerned that my niece is being hoodwinked. She put in an offer on a three bed flat in Sprowston, where the lease is about 76 years but she was advised by the selling agents that the vendor had extended it to 99 years. She has now been told the flat owner was waiting for her to retain conveyancers ahead of instigating the lease extension. Seems odd to me, also it may take a while to sort it all out. What do you think?

My husband and I have a ground floor flat in Sprowston with 57 years remaining. Last year we were quoted a deal to receive a lease extension for a further 25 years but also uplift the ground rent from nominal to £200 per year..plus a premium I think of approximately 16k. We have now decided to go ahead but do we now have to renegotiate?
My OH and I are acquiring a ground floor flat in Sprowston which has share of freehold and a leasehold. The lease was starting to get low so the seller is in the process of extending the lease. The owner has submitted the lease extension paperwork to HMLR. An essential part of the house buying process is for our conveyancers to do a "priority search" on the lease. The problem here is that as a lease extension has been submitted we've been told by our solicitors it may not be possible to do this "priority search" right now as the new lease title number is not known. Is it right that we must wait pending registration of the new lease?
I am the registered freeholder of a couple of flats. Someone has the lease on the lower flat in Sprowston. I live in the top flat. I was looking at the land registry documents yesterday when I noticed that my flat is leasehold. There is seventy three years remaining. Can one do a lease extension without using a lawyers?
