I want to buy a leasehold property and lease extension. The current owner has been there for three years and will sign the notice. He will let me have the notice on exchange and then I will serve it in the landlord. Is this OK ?
We have seen a house for sale for £195k and we are very interested but we've just discovered that it is leasehold. There are 928 years unexpired so a lease extension is not an issue. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for twenty years without the house being ours. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
I would like to have my residential flat leasehold extension premium assessed. The flat is in Spondon, and my lease will reach 79 years this May. Could you advise me about the costs and time-frame to obtain your valuation? Also, do you represent your clients at the Tribunal court?

My offer was conditional upon the lease being extended... .. that was back in September, hoping I'd have completed by Christmas. Hopefully an easy question for you, how much does it cost for a lease extension on a residential property in Spondon for a one bed flat - section 42 is already in place?
I am currently negotiating a lease extension for my flat in Spondon as it is coming up to the 80 year mark. As I understood it, if you extend your lease by the 90 years available, you pay a premium (£thousands) but the ground rent is reduced to a peppercorn. I am now told that I have to continue paying ground rent. I thought the major cost of a lease extension was to compensate the freeholder as they wouldn't be collecting ground rent anymore?
I have a lease of seventy six years remaining on my flat in Spondon. We are looking for a lease extension, so we contacted our freehold company and they came back with a quote that was double the amount and half the extension time that the lease extension calculator provided. Is there anyway, without racking up a huge legal bill, we can ask the freehold company to provide their computation of the amount and how they derived to it?
