I have been in touch with my freeholder to extend my lease for my flat in Selsdon. His property lawyers has been in contact with costs etc. I need an estimate for dealing with the legalities to secure a lease extension. The flat currently has a 99 YR lease which started July 1984.

I am a FTB of a leasehold flat in Selsdon. The lease has just 63 years left and ground rent is £25. I'm looking at purchasing an apartment in Selsdon at a price of £195,000 the flat has approximately 54 years unexpired on the lease. I put in an offer conditional upon the lease being extended... .. that was back in September, hoping I'd have moved in before Christmas. They have just informed me they are willing to reduce the price by£7k if they don't have to deal with the lease extension. I'm not sure whether that's a good idea
