The intention is to sell our GFF in Reading but we may need a lease extension, or at least cover the expense of our buyers. Are you able to recommend a to handle this?
I am a first time buyer of a leasehold flat in Reading. The lease has just seventy six years remaining and ground rent is £25. Is it possible for the homeowner to serve the Initial Notice and then assign over the right to me as the purchaser once I complete the buying process so that I can avoid waiting for the 2 year qualifying period before I can apply to for a lease extension or have to deal with all this expense later? I have read this is legal but will it be very time consuming to the owner? To add to the complexity the landlord can not be found, so I am not sure how this will play out.
I am thinking about purchasing an auction property and found a one bed flat in Reading. It has just fifty-one year lease..the current owner as mortgagees in possession dont want the aggravation of negotiating a lease extension..what are the disadvantages of this except for the huge fee to put a new lease on it and decreased chance of getting a mortgage with TSB?
We wish to extend our lease. We will have been in the place for two years as of 11th May 2015. It has roughly seventy four years remaining currently. Hoping to get a lease extension by way of an additional 90 years as quickly and stress free as is reasonably achievable.
My nephew has a share of freehold, with two other leaseholders in a building in Reading. House split into three flats. He has a lease, which has about seventy one yrs remaining. Does he have to do the lease extension at the same time with the other tenants, or could he extend the lease on his own?

We currently own a studio flat in Reading and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has 57 years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 15k plus to get a lease extension. Can you offer some advice on this? Should I contact the freeholder first and will they be able to give me a cost?
I am currently negotiating a lease extension for my flat in Reading as it is coming up to the 80 year mark. As I understood it, if you extend your lease by the 90 years available, you pay a premium (£thousands) but the ground rent is reduced to a peppercorn. I am now told that I have to continue paying ground rent. I thought the major cost of a lease extension was to compensate the freeholder as they wouldn't be collecting ground rent anymore?
Do you handle lease extensions on land? (a plot of land in Reading with 82yrs remaining)
