I have an interest in the freehold of 2 blocks of flats comprising of 8 flats each. Two of the leasehold owners want a lease extension and I'm enquiring about the procedure for this
I need to extend my current lease can you help me with that? I think it has fivety nine years remaining
This flat I have in mind requires only ground rent. Long lease so no lease extension required. I have asked the estate agents as to what happens to building insurance and responsibility for communal areas and if one of the two flats which make up the property wants to make alterations. They said they did not know. I cannot see how one could get buildings insurance for the whole building shared with another flat, either downstairs or upstairs. I do need to clarify things like this before I undertake all the expenses involved in purchasing a property I feel. Do freeholders actually supply their own insurance?
I would like to have my residential flat leasehold extension premium assessed. The flat is in Old Windsor, and my lease will reach sixety two years this June. Could you advise me about the costs and time-frame to obtain your valuation? Also, do you represent your clients at the Tribunal court?

I am a first time buyer of a leasehold flat in Old Windsor. The lease has just sixety one years residual lease term and ground rent is £75. Is it possible for the owner to serve the Notice of Claim and then transfer over the right to me as the buyer on the day of completion so that I can avoid waiting for the two year requisite period before I can apply to for a lease extension or have to deal with all this expense later? I have read this is legal but will it be very time consuming to the vendor? Unfortunately the landlord is absent, so I am not sure how this will play out.
My lawyers (separately handling my lease extension) said I need a licence to alter given that I wish to carry out a loft extension to my property. Is this strictly required given that I have a share of the freehold. I've informally discussed the loft conversion with my co-freeholder some time ago and he had no objection once I reassured him that if my builder damages the roof I won't expect the co-freeholder to pay for future repairs to the roof. Assuming I need formal consent should I get the licence to alter and then start the lease extension process?
I'm looking at buying an apartment in Old Windsor at a price of £195,000 the flat has something like sixety two years unexpired on the lease. I put in an offer conditional upon a lease extension... .. that was back in August, hoping I'd have completed by now. The owner has just informed the agent they are willing to reduce the price by£8k if they don't have to deal with the lease extension. I'm unsure whether that's a good idea
