Hi, I stumbled across this website. I'm seeking prices on what a lease extension will cost for a garden flat located in Oakley. It's up for sale at the moment but has just over sixety eight years left on the lease
We have seen a house for sale for £195k and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 928 years remaining so a lease extension is not required. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without the house being ours. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Hi. I need a conveyancing practitioners to review my lease extension before it's completed just to make sure there's nothing that I haven't seen - it's just a surrender and regrant with a few small variations.
I have been in touch with my freeholder for a lease extension for my flat in Oakley. His solicitors has been in contact regarding costs etc. I need an estimate for dealing with the legalities to secure a lease extension. The flat currently has a 99 YR lease which started August 1993.
I am the registered owner of a 2 bed flat in Oakley. The lease started in 1992 for 99 years. Now I am wanting to extend the lease. I am in the dark about additional expenses, could you tell me please how much I should expect to spend on this?
My mortgage provider is requesting a £500 fee for their conveyancing practitioners to approve the lease extension deed for my flat in Oakley... I am unable to find any reference of this in my mortgage contract... is this a normal charge?
Just been over 2 years that I have owned my one bedroom first floor purpose built maisonette in Oakley. I have 73 years left on the lease. I am now wanting to buy a share of freehold or a lease extension. I acquired the property for 350K, it is now roughly 425k. I understand that 90 years is the period most people extend. I spoke to my conveyancers about the process, he answered most of my questions but just have one left: Is there a benefit in getting a Oakley based lawyers or any will do fine?
We are purchasing a ground floor flat in Oakley which has share of freehold and a leasehold. The lease was on the short side so the vendor is in the process of extending the lease. The seller has submitted the lease extension paperwork which will result in the registration of a new lease at the land registry. A crucial aspect of the conveyancing process is for our conveyancers to do OS1 search on the property title. The concern here is that as a lease extension has been submitted we've been told by our lawyers it may not be possible to do this "priority search" right now as the new property title number has not been issued. Is it correct that we have to be patient pending registration of the new lease?
I own the freehold reversion of a property in Oakley where the leaseholder would like a lease extension. Her so called valuation expert has suggested a figure of £9,000, but has increased this by £2,000 at the drop of a hat. My valuer has put forward a much higher amount. She does not appear to wish to negotiate wanting to go to LVT. If a lease extension does go to a FTT, can I handle the matter myself, just equipped with the valuations I have? If not, what charges would I be likely to face?
We currently own a garden flat in Oakley and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has 73 years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 20k plus to get a lease extension. Can you offer some advice on this? Should I contact the freeholder first and will they be able to give me a cost?
