Common questions relating to Newington Lease Extensions
I am the registered owner of a flat in Newington with a leasehold unexpired approximately 59 years and need to extend it. Please can you advise me of the next stages
We have owned a leasehold flat for around twenty years. There are 65 years unexpired lease on the lease. Following a year of protracted negotiations through my conveyancing practitioners and, mainly, surveyor I now have an offer from the landlord. I am at a decision point on whether to accept it or go to LVT and would welcome some independent thoughts.
I am in need of some help with a lease extension. I live in Dublin but the flat in question is based in Newington. I would be grateful if you can give me a call when you get a chance to discuss the case.
I'm living with my mother and father but have a garden flat in Newington let out which has a fivety four year lease. Mortgage broker said I can remortgage as a buy to let instead of consent to let and release 55-60k which on top of a new mortgage based on my income. Not much about in Newington for me to get my own place. If I sell I will only get 150-160 due to tenant (8 months left on AST) and lease. A lease extension will cost 13k. Should I keep or sell the flat?
I do not need a lease extension but I do need a vesting order on a property I want to buy in Newington. The house is freehold but the garden is officially leasehold, 1000 year lease from 1854. Its the rear garden.
My brother and I have been in discussion with our freeholder after having a valuation on our garden flat in Newington. We have a sixety four year lease and we wish to increase this to 99. The Freeholder has supplied us with a financial figure that she is happy with to accept for the extension of the lease, which we are happy with as well and wish to proceed. All we need now is a solicitors to handle this for us. Can you please provide me what your costs would be to act on our behalf.
I'm looking at buying a flat in Newington at a price of £256,000 the flat has approaching 78 years remaining on the lease. I put in an offer conditional upon the lease being renewed... .. that was back in September, expecting I'd have completed by Christmas. They have just informed the agent they'll reduce the price by£7k if I deal with the lease extension myself. I'm unsure whether that's a good idea
Me and my partner are hoping to purchase a home (a one bedroom apartment located inNewington with share of freehold). During our search, we were always looking at flats that had at least eighty five years remaining. We identified a place we liked and the estate agent assured that the lease term was not an issue. Yesterday our property lawyers advised us the lease only has sixety seven years and thus requires a lease extension. Do we run away, or do we lower our offer by the estimated difference in value resulting from the short lease term setting aside that money to cover the lease extension?
I have seventy one years remaining on my lease of a ground floor flat in Newington, the Landlord requires a £15k premium for a statutory lease extension of 90yrs. I am looking for advice on whether this amount is acceptable
