I am considering bidding for an auction property and identified a studio flat in Monmouth. It has just 49 year lease..the seller being mortgagees in possession will not want the aggravation of applying for a lease extension..what are the disadvantages of this except for the huge fee to extend the lease and decreased chance of getting a mortgage with Yorkshire Building Society?
I own a share of the freehold. There are four apartments in the building. All the leaseholders are now requiring lease extensions. Are you willing to assist us with this situation?
My OH and I have owned a leasehold flat for about fifteen years. There are seventy two years unexpired lease on the lease. After a year of difficult negotiations through my solicitors and, mainly, surveyor I now have an offer from the freeholder. I am at a decision point on whether to accept it or go to LVT and would welcome advice.

Hello I own the freehold title in a one bedroom flat in Monmouth. The leaseholder has a 70 year lease and would like to purchase further 90 years. He is offering me £21,000 but I am unsure if this is in the right ballpark
I'm intent on acquiring an apartment in Monmouth valued at £195,000 the flat has something like 76 years remaining on the lease. I put in an offer conditional upon the lease being renewed... .. that was back in June, expecting I'd have completed by now. They have just informed the agent they'll knock £4k off if they don't have to deal with the lease extension. I'm unsure whether that's a good idea
I am currently negotiating a lease extension for my flat in Monmouth as it is coming up to the 80 year mark. As I understood it, if you extend your lease by the 90 years available, you pay a premium (£thousands) but the ground rent is reduced to a peppercorn. I am now told that I have to continue paying ground rent. I thought the major cost of a lease extension was to compensate the freeholder as they wouldn't be collecting ground rent anymore?
