Marske By The Sea Lease Extensions: Q and A’s
I am looking for a rough estimate of what a lease extension will cost for a flat I intend to buy. It has 59 years unexpired.
We have seen a house for sale for £215k and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 899 years outstanding so a lease extension is not required. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this correct? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without owning the property. Any advice would be much appreciated.
My neighbours and I are in a building containing four flats in Marske By The Sea and have been offered to buy the freehold for 8k per flat rather than go for lease extensions. We are all in agreement that we want to do this but how do we get started and what is the likely cost?
I am a FTB of a leasehold flat in Marske By The Sea. The lease has only seventy seven years left and ground rent is £75. Is it possible for the flat owner to serve the Initial Notice and then assign over the right to me as the buyer once I complete the buying process so that I can avoid waiting for the two year requisite period before I can apply to for a lease extension or have to deal with all this expense later? I have read this may be possible but will it be very time consuming to the homeowner? To add to the complexity the landlord can not be found, so I am not sure how this will play out.
We have a leasehold flat in Marske By The Sea with sixety nine years left. Last year we were quoted a deal to have a lease extension for another fifty years but also increase ground rent from nominal to £300 per year..plus a premium I think of about 16k. Finally we have decided to go ahead but do we now have to start the negotiations again?
I own 70% in a shared ownership property with a housing association and I am considering a lease extension on a lease which is now around seventy five years. I need a conveyancers at my end. Can you advise please? I live near Marske By The Sea and have a mortgage with Barnsley Building Society.
I am the freeholder of a Edwardian property split into two flats. I reside in the upper flat and my neighbour in the lower flat. My neighbour has approached me for a lease extension from the current 73 years. What are my next steps?
We know that others in the same building previously had a lease extension, and the freeholder seemed amenable. Therefore is seems worth taking risk of not having formal survey and base the initial offer on previous prices . This would save on double valuation charges. Would you recommend such a course of action?
I am currently in the process of refinancing my two bedroom second floor purpose built flat in Marske By The Sea and the mortgage company that I am looking to move to requires a minimum 80 years remaining on the lease in order for them to progress matters. We currently have around sixety years on the leasehold so looking for some advice, guidance, and some quotes to get the wheels in motion for a lease extension
We currently own a one bedroom first floor purpose built maisonette in Marske By The Sea and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has 57 years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 15k plus to get a lease extension. Can you offer some advice on this? Should I contact the freeholder first and will they be able to give me a cost?
