My fiance and I have just completed on a three bed conversion flat inLynton and I'm thinking about extending the lease as soon as possible e.g. in two years
We have seen a house for sale for £195k and we are very interested but we've just discovered that it is leasehold. There are 899 years left so a lease extension is not an issue. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without the house being ours. Any information would be much appreciated.
I inherited a garden flat in Lynton. I am looking for a lease extension on the property. It is approximately eighty one years. I would just like to know what your charges are and how long it would take for completion.
I will soon view a two bedroom maisonette, although not exactly my perfect property it has enough positives to suit me very well for my present circumstances. However after downloading a copy of the title I've learnt that it only has seventy nine years residual lease term on the lease. It is also a repossession so I'm assuming that the bank will not be interested in doing a lease extension. My primary concern is would the short lease make it difficult to secure a mortgage?
I am concerned that my niece might have had the wool pulled over her eyes. She put in an offer on a three bed flat in Lynton, where the lease is slightly less seventy seven years but she was told by the selling agents that the flat owner had extended it to 125 years. Only now has she been informed the current owner was waiting for her to retain solicitors before commencing with the lease extension. Sounds odd to me, also it may take time to sort it all out. Am I being too sceptical?
My husband and I have a leasehold flat in Lynton with sixety four years unexpired. Last year we were quoted a deal to receive a lease extension for a further thirty years but also uplift the ground rent from nominal to a little more..plus a premium I think of approximately 10k. We have now decided to move forward but do we now have to start the negotiations again?
I own 70% in a shared ownership property with a housing association and I am considering a lease extension on a lease which is now around 59 years. I need a at my end. Can you advise please? I live near Lynton and have a mortgage with Santander.
I'm hoping for some assistance concerning a lease extension on my flat. The plan is to do this in nine months time as we must move then. Unfortunately the current lease is now very short and therefore I'm guessing it'll be expensive to extend. I'm also thinking that I'll probably have to go down the LVT route. Should I look to extend it now or wait until I sell my place and have it all tied in with the property sale?
I am currently negotiating a lease extension for my flat in Lynton as it is coming up to the 80 year mark. As I understood it, if you extend your lease by the 90 years available, you pay a premium (£thousands) but the ground rent is reduced to a peppercorn. I am now told that I have to continue paying ground rent. I thought the major cost of a lease extension was to compensate the freeholder as they wouldn't be collecting ground rent anymore?
We have a garden flat in Lynton with a lease of fivety eight years left with a value of around £290000 we want to add 125 years to it, how much is that likely to cost?
