I have a lease of 59 years on a property which I am looking to buy how much am I looking at for the cost to extend the lease?
Regarding a leasehold in Lambeth. GFF maisonette. seventy nine yrs remaining. I have negotiated a lease extension price of £20k for 125yrs. Freeholder also insisted on Notice of Claim which I think is a tad over the top. Advice required.
We had entered into buying a ground floor flat in Lambeth. I was advised that the lease had been lengthened (56 years left prior to extension). The description on the listing said "sold with a long lease". It turns out at the point of exchange of contracts we find that the lease has not been extended. The flat owner supposedly has a quote but no funds to extend as a result the owner wishes to exchange and use the my deposit to extend the lease. My question is as the lease hasn't been extended is there not a danger that Norwich and Peterborough Building Society won't lend on a lease?
My brother has a share of freehold, with two other leaseholders in a building in Lambeth. House converted into three flats. He has a lease, which has around 69 yrs left. How much would it cost for a lease extension and how many years would he need to extend by?
Even though I may not need a lease extension but I do need a vesting order on a property I want to acquire in Lambeth. The house is freehold but the garden is officially leasehold, 1000 year lease from 1889. Its the rear garden.
I am currently negotiating a lease extension for my flat in Lambeth as it is coming up to the 80 year mark. As I understood it, if you extend your lease by the 90 years available, you pay a premium (£thousands) but the ground rent is reduced to a peppercorn. I am now told that I have to continue paying ground rent. I thought the major cost of a lease extension was to compensate the freeholder as they wouldn't be collecting ground rent anymore?
Do you handle lease extensions on land? (a plot of land in Lambeth with 82yrs remaining)
