We agreed with the freeholder to a lease extension on our flat located in Killay, 16k for an additional 90yrs. How long will it take ?
40k agreed with the landlord’s agents, just attempting to find a Killay for a lease extension. Our lease has around 70 yrsleft. What's your solicitors fee ?
We have seen a house for sale for £215k and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 928 years remaining so a lease extension is not an issue. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for twenty years without owning the property. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
I bought a one bedroom first floor purpose built flat located in Killay with a leasehold unexpired of 77 years. I am wondering about how much it will cost me to extend my leasehold
I am looking into the costs of carrying out a lease extension for my one bedroom ground floor purpose built flat in Killay, and would like some figures on that.
I have my suspicions that my daughter is being hoodwinked. She put in an offer on a studio flat in Killay, where the lease is nearly seventy four years but she was informed by the selling agents that the owner had extended it to 99 years. Only now has she been told the homeowner was waiting for her to instruct solicitors prior to commencing with the lease extension. Seems devious, also it will take months to sort it all out. What do you think?
I am hoping to extend the lease on my one bed flat in Killay I am looking for help to verify the premium. I have a premium value that the freeholder has given me. I would like to go forward as soon as possible, but for the right premium and fee.
If a leaseholder owns a flat with a lease of under 80 years, they can afford the lease extension by borrowing the funds against the property, and the value of the flat with the new lease will more than cover the cost of the extension, then is there any justification for not doing it?
We are buying a maisonette in Killay which has share of freehold and a leasehold. The lease was on the short side so the vendor is in the process of dealing with a lease extension. The owner has submitted the lease extension paperwork to HMLR. An essential part of the conveyancing process is for our to do a pre-completion search on the property title. The problem here is that as a lease extension has been submitted we've been told by our it may not be possible to do this "priority search" right now as the new property title number is not known. Is it correct that we have to be patient until the new lease is registered?
We currently own a ground floor flat in Killay and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has 75 years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 20k plus to get a lease extension. Do you have some advice on this? Should I contact the landlord first and will they be able to give me a cost?
