  • Hi, I just randomly found this website. I'm seeking prices on what a lease extension will cost for a one bed apartment in Hove. It's on the market at the moment but has slightly less than 74 years left on the lease
  • I have an interest in the freehold of buildings comprising of 8 flats each. 2 of the leasehold owners want to extend their leases and I'm curious about the procedure for this
  • We have seen a house for sale for £185,000 and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 798 years remaining so a lease extension is not a worry. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for twenty years without owning the property. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
  • I will soon view a two bedroom apartment, although not exactly my ideal property it has enough positives to suit me very well for my present circumstances. However after downloading a copy of the title I've learnt that it only has sixety two years remaining on the lease. It is also a repo so I'm guessing that the lender will not be interested in extending the lease. My primary concern is would it be difficult to sell on without a lease extension?
  • I am a FTB of a leasehold flat in Hove. The lease has only 69 years left and ground rent is £95. Is it possible for the current owner to serve the Initial Notice and then transfer over the right to me as the purchaser once I complete the buying process so that I don't have to wait for the two year qualifying period before I can apply to for a lease extension or have to deal with all this expense later? I have read this is legal but will it be very time costly to the homeowner? Unfortunately it’s the case of an absent freeholder, so I am not sure how does it work.
  • I am concerned that my niece might have had the wool pulled over her eyes. She submitted an offer on a garden flat in Hove, where the lease is roughly sixety seven years but she was told by the selling agents that the seller had extended it to 99 years. Only now has she been advised the homeowner was holding off for her to instruct conveyancers prior to commencing with the lease extension. Seems odd to me, also it could take a while to sort it all out. Am I reading too much into it?
  • My wife and I have a GFF in Hove. There is 81 years to run on the lease and we want a lease extension. What does it cost on average to get a lease extension by, say, twenty years
  • I own the freehold to two flats. Someone has the lease on the garden flat in Hove. I live in the top flat. I was reviewing the title deeds recently when I noticed that my flat is leasehold. There is sixety six years left. Can one do a lease extension without instructing a ?
  • We currently own a one bed flat in Hove and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has 66 years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 13k plus to get a lease extension. Do you have some advice on this? Do I contact the landlord first and will they be able to give me a cost?
