FAQs concerning Hillsborough Lease Extensions
We have seen a house for sale for £185,000 and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 899 years left so a lease extension is not required. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this correct? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for twenty years without owning the property. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
This flat I have in mind requires only ground rent. Long lease so no lease extension required. I have asked the estate agents as to what happens to building insurance and responsibility for communal areas and if one of the two flats which make up the property wants to make alterations. They said they did not know. I cannot see how one could get buildings insurance for the whole building shared with another flat, either downstairs or upstairs. I do need to clarify things like this before I undertake all the expenses involved in purchasing a property I feel. Do freeholders actually supply their own insurance?
We are selling our one bedroom apartment in Hillsborough but we may require a lease extension, or at least cover the expense of our buyers. Can you help me find someone to help us?
My mortgage lender requires several hundred pounds for their to approve the lease extension deed for my flat in Hillsborough... I am unable to find any mention of this in my mortgage contract... is this a usual cost that they charge?
We have a leasehold flat in Hillsborough with sixety five years left. Last year we were quoted a deal to grant a lease extension for another 25 years but also increase ground rent from notional to £200 per annum..plus a premium I think of about 16k. Finally we have decided to proceed but do we now have to start the negotiations again?
My wife and I are considering purchasing a garden flat in Hillsborough which is a leasehold. I am enquiring as to the advantages and disadvantages of that - what occurs when lease ends, the cost of a lease extension, can the freeholder of the property evict me from my own flat and prevent me from having a lease extension?
Hopefully an easy question for you, how much does it cost for a lease extension on a residential property in Hillsborough for a one bed flat - sec 42 having been issued?
Me and my husband are hoping to acquire a home (a garden flat located inHillsborough with share of freehold). During our search, we were always looking at apartments that had at least 83 years outstanding. We identified a flat we liked and the selling agent assured that the lease was long albeit not specifying a number. Today our advised us the lease only has 74 years and therefore requires a lease extension. Should we walk away, or should we negotiate our offer?
I am the freeholder of a property in Hillsborough and a leaseholder would like a lease extension. Her so called valuation expert has provided a figure of £8,000, but has increased this to £10,000 without too much effort. My valuer has come back with £12,520. Negotiations have broken down so it looks at though we need to go to a FTT. If a lease extension does go to tribunal, can I deal with this myself, just equipped with the valuations I have? If not, what costs would I be likely to face?
I was hoping you might be able to tell me the process of how to apply for a lease extension for my maisonette in Hillsborough
