I'm looking for an apartment to purchase in Glastonbury and I'm not really familiar with the leasehold arrangement. I've identified a one bedroom apartment I like with a 91 years lease. I intend to buy a one bed flat in Glastonbury for asking price of 156k, which has 78 years lease left on it. Seller doesn't want to extend the lease for even if I were to pay the money to the seller. I'm intent on buying an apartment in Glastonbury at a price of £195,000 the flat has approximately seventy seven years remaining on the lease. I put in an offer subject to the lease being extended... .. that was back in August, expecting I'd be in by Christmas. The seller has just come back saying they'll knock £4k off if they don't have to deal with the lease extension. I'm unsure whether that's a good idea
We are are hoping to complete on a one bed flat in Glastonbury which has share of freehold and a leasehold. The lease was on the short side so the owner commenced extending the lease. The seller has submitted the lease extension paperwork to HMLR. An essential part of the conveyancing process is for our solicitors to do OS1 search on the property title. The problem here is that as a lease extension has been submitted we've been told by our solicitors it may not be possible to do this "priority search" right now as the new property title number has not been issued. Is it correct that we must hold on until the lease extension has actually been registered before completing.?
My wife and I are hoping to buy a flat (a maisonette based inGlastonbury with share of freehold). Throughout our search, we were always looking at apartments that had at least ninety years left on the lease. We came across a apartment we liked and the estate agent assured that the lease was long albeit not specifying a number. Yesterday our lawyers told us the lease only has seventy two years and therefore needs a lease extension. Should we walk away, or should we reduce our offer?
I'm hoping for some advice concerning extending the lease on my maisonette. I'll be looking to do this in nine months time as we must move then. Unfortunately the current lease is now very short and therefore I'm guessing it'll be expensive to extend. I'm also thinking that I'll probably have to go down the tribunal route. Do I look to complete the lease extension now or wait until I sell my place and have it all tied in with the property sale?
