We would like to extend our lease. We will have been in the flat for two years as of 21st Jan 2016. It has circa 76 years remaining currently. Hoping to get a lease extension by way of an additional 90 years as expeditiously and stress free as is reasonably achievable.

Just been over 2 years that I have been in my studio flat in Finedon. I have 70 years left on the lease. I am now looking either to buy a share of freehold or a lease extension. I purchased the property for 350K, it is now roughly 445k. I understand that 90 years is the period most people extend. I spoke to my property lawyers about the process, he answered most of my questions but just have one left: I realize this will cost me 10k+, it is not easy to drop the cash (even if I may have savings) to cover it. What do most people do in terms of financing - do they add it to their existing mortgage or pay it out in cash?
We are acquiring a ground floor flat in Finedon which has share of freehold and a leasehold. The lease was starting to get low so the seller commenced extending the lease. The seller’s lawyer has submitted the lease extension paperwork to HMLR. An essential part of the conveyancing process is for our conveyancing practitioners to do a pre-completion search on the lease. The problem here is that as a lease extension has been submitted we've been told by our conveyancing practitioners it may not be possible to do this "priority search" right now as the new lease title number has not been issued. Is it right that we must wait until the new lease is registered?
Me and my fiance are in the throws of buying a flat (a garden flat located inFinedon with share of freehold). Throughout our search, we were always looking at properties that had at least ninety years remaining. We came across a apartment we fell in love with and the estate agent assured that the lease was long albeit not specifying a number. Today our conveyancing practitioners informed us the lease only has 77 years and thus needs a lease extension. Should we walk away, or do we lower our offer by the estimated difference in value resulting from the short lease term setting aside that money to cover the lease extension?
I'm hoping for some assistance concerning extending the lease on my maisonette. The intention is to do this sometime next year as we need to move then. Unfortunately the current lease is now very short and therefore I'm guessing it'll be expensive to extend. I'm also thinking that I'll probably have to go down the tribunal route. Can you recommend a good conveyancers with expertise in lease extensions. Ideally someone in Finedon area?
