I think our conveyancing practitioners has advised us incorrectly concerning a lease extension and I want to know how to complain

I have my suspicions that my daughter is being hoodwinked. She put in an offer on a ground floor flat in Comberton, where the lease is nearly 54 years but she was told by the selling agents that the homeowner had extended it to 125 years. She has now been told the seller was holding off for her to instruct conveyancers ahead of instigating the lease extension. Sounds devious, also it may take a while to sort it all out. Am I being too sceptical?
We are considering purchasing a garden flat in Comberton which is a leasehold. I am wondering what are the pros and cons of that - what happens when lease ends, how much it costs to extend it, can the freeholder of the property evict me from my own flat and block me from having a lease extension?

I'm living with my mother and father but have a ground floor flat in Comberton let out which has a fivety four year lease. Mortgage broker said I can remortgage as a buy to let instead of consent to let and release 55-60k which on top of a new mortgage based on my income. Not much about in Comberton for me to get my own place. If I sell I will only get 150-160 due to tenant (8 months left on AST) and lease. A lease extension will cost 19k. Not sure sure whether to hold on or sell the flat?
I am the freeholder of a property in Comberton and a leaseholder has requested a lease extension. Her so called valuation expert has suggested a figure of £9,000, but has increased this to £10,000 without too much effort. My surveyor has put forward a much higher figure. Negotiations have broken down so it looks at though we need to go to LVT. If a lease extension does go to a FTT, can I handle the matter myself, just armed with the valuations I have? If not, what charges would I be likely to incur?
My friend is worried about getting a lease extension from an objectionable freeholder. Notwithstanding that the legal procedures were followed under the 1993 Act, the landlord still attempted to charge ground rent of £300 doubling every twenty five years of the new lease. Can you help?
We have a one bedroom apartment in Comberton with a lease of 70 years left with a value of around £290000 we want to add 125 years to it, how much is that likely to cost?
