FAQs concerning Choppington Lease Extensions
I am looking at investing in a holiday home but it has a lease that expires in 14 years. Its in Choppington - I wanted to see if with your services this could be extended?
Hi. I need a lawyers to have a look at my lease extension ahead of it being completed just to make sure there's nothing that I haven't seen - it's just a reissue with a few small amendments.
I own a maisonnette together with the freehold. The owners of the upstairs flat have asked to extend the lease what do I need to do?
I have been in touch with my freeholder to extend my lease for my flat in Choppington. His lawyers has been in contact regarding charges etc. I need a ball park figure for dealing with the legalities to secure a lease extension. The flat currently has a 99 YR lease which started August 1986.
I am looking to either purchase the freehold or a lease extension of my property in Choppington and have been in touch with the freeholder, have had quote for around £3k to extend the lease. I will be doing a remortgage with HSBC Bank to free up equity. My adviser dealing with the remortgage suggested I get two estimates : one to extend the lease and one for the freehold purchase .The lease began in 1991 and since then the ground rent has increased from £15.00 per year to £300 per year.
I have a share of the freehold. There are four flats in the house. All the leaseholders are now looking for lease extensions. How long will take to get a lease extension?
We have owned a leasehold flat for about fifteen years. It now has seventy three years outstanding on the lease. After a year of protracted negotiations through my solicitors and, mainly, surveyor I now have an offer from the freeholder. I am at a decision point on whether to accept it or go to a Tribunal and would appreciate some independent thoughts.
If a leaseholder owns a flat with a lease of under 80 years, they can afford the lease extension by borrowing the funds against the property, and the value of the flat with the new lease will more than cover the cost of the extension, then is there any justification for not extending the lease?
My husband and I have been in discussion with our freeholder after having a valuation on our one bedroom apartment in Choppington. We have a 79 year lease and we wish to increase this to 99. The Freeholder has supplied us with a premium amount that she is happy with to accept for the extension of the lease, which we are happy with as well and wish to proceed. All we need now is a conveyancers to handle this for us. Can you please provide me what your costs would be to act on our behalf.
My brother and I are buying a one bedroom apartment in Choppington which has share of freehold and a leasehold. The lease was on the short side so the owner is in the process of dealing with a lease extension. The seller has submitted the lease extension paperwork to HMLR. An essential part of the house buying process is for our conveyancing practitioners to do a "priority search" on the lease. The problem here is that as a lease extension has been submitted we've been told by our property lawyers it may not be possible to do this "priority search" right now as the new property title number is not known. Is it right that we have to be patient pending registration of the new lease?
