I am looking to purchase a garden flat in Castle Cary with a lease of 79 years but have no idea what I will have to spend to renew so I can put in an offer given to future cost of a lease extension.
Is it possible to talk with you about a flat in Castle Cary, I am considering buying at auction in the next few days. The flat has a short lease and I was wondering about how much it would cost to get a lease extension and for your services.
I am a FTB of a leasehold flat in Castle Cary. The lease has just 61 years remaining and ground rent is £25. Is it possible for the owner to serve the Initial Notice and then assign this right to me as the buyer once I complete the buying process so that I don't have to wait for the two year requisite period before I can apply to for a lease extension or have to deal with all this expense later? I have read this is legal but will it be very time costly to the current owner? Unfortunately the landlord can not be found, so I am not sure how does it work.
We are proceeding with buying a one bedroom apartment in Castle Cary. I was advised by the EA that the lease extension had already been completed while on a viewing (54 years unexpired lease prior to extension). The sales particulars said "sold with a long lease". It transpires at the point of exchange of contracts we find that there has been no lease extension. The owner apparently has a quote but no money to extend and consequently the owner wants to exchange and use the deposit monies to extend the lease. My question is why has this only just been brought to my attention by my solicitors?
I am seeking advice as I am interested in a property that has only a 58 year lease and therefore requires a lease extension. Is it possible for me to talk with someone to discuss my options please?

I'm living at parents but have a maisonette in Castle Cary let out which has a 66 year lease. Mortgage broker said I can remortgage as a buy to let instead of consent to let and release 55-60k which on top of a new mortgage based on my income. Not much about in Castle Cary for me to get my own place. If I sell I will only get 150-160 due to tenant (8 months left on AST) and lease. A lease extension will cost 21k. Should I keep or sell the flat?
Coming up to 2 years that I have owned my one bedroom second floor purpose built flat in Castle Cary. I have fivety seven yrs unexpired lease on the lease. I am now wanting to purchase a share of freehold or extend my lease. I purchased the property for 342K, it is now roughly 450k. I understand that 90 years is the period most people extend. I spoke to my conveyancing practitioners about the process, he answered most of my questions but just have one left: I realize this will cost me 10k+, it is not easy to drop the cash (even if I may have savings) to cover it. What do most people do in terms of financing - do they add it to their existing mortgage or pay it out in cash?
Hello I am the freeholder title in a one bedroom flat in Castle Cary. The leaseholder has a seventy five year lease and would like to purchase an additional 90 years. He is offering me £18,000 but I am not sure if this is in the right ballpark
My wife and I are worried about obtaining a lease extension from an objectionable freeholder. Regardless of the fact that the correct procedures were adhered to under the appropriate legislation, the landlord still tried to charge ground rent of £250 doubling every 25 years of the new lease. Can you assist?
