Hello, I stumbled upon your site. I'm seeking prices on what it cost to extend a lease of a maisonette in Blythe Bridge. It's up for sale at the moment but has roughly 66 years left on the lease
We have seen a house for sale for £185,000 and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 928 years left so a lease extension is not a worry. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this correct? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without owning the property. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
I am going to purchase a flat located in Blythe Bridge. My offer is subject to the lease extension. The seller’s has given to the freeholder the Section 42 Notice. Once this notice has been accepted by the freeholder, it is possible for the lessee to assign the benefit of that notice to me, the buyer, so that the buyer “stands in the shoes” of the Lessee, so to speak. I was wondering if this could be a problem for the mortgage lender Barnsley Building Society. Moreover, which are the following lease extension steps to complete the purchase?
I am thinking about whether to purchase the freehold or a lease extension of my property in Blythe Bridge and have been in touch with the freeholder, have had quote for around £4k to extend the lease. I plan to simultaneously refinance with Godiva Mortgages Ltd to free up equity. My broker dealing with the remortgage suggested I get two estimates : one to extend the lease and one for outright purchase .The lease started in 1981 and since then the ground rent has been raised from £38.00 per annum to £125 per year.
I have my suspicions that my daughter might have had the wool pulled over her eyes. She put in an offer on a two bedroom second floor purpose built flat in Blythe Bridge, where the lease is slightly less sixety six years but she was told by the selling agents that the vendor had extended it to 99 years. She has now been told the flat owner was holding off for her to instruct lawyers before commencing with the lease extension. Seems underhand, also it will take time to sort it all out. What do you think?
I am looking to extend the lease on my studio flat in Blythe Bridge I am looking for help to verify the premium. I have a quote from the freeholder. I would like to go forward as soon as possible, but for the right premium and fee.
My wife and I are worried about seeking a lease extension from an objectionable freeholder. Even though the correct procedures were adhered to under the 1993 Act, the landlord still tried to get ground rent of £300 doubling every twenty five years of the new lease. Can you assist?
We currently own a garden flat in Blythe Bridge and are looking to sell it this year so we can carry out some improvements on our family home. I checked the lease and it has sixety two years left. Not sure what to do, have read some bits on the web saying it will be 15k plus to get a lease extension. Do you have some advice on this? Should I contact the landlord first and will they be able to give me a cost?
I have a lease of sixety nine years remaining on my flat in Blythe Bridge. We are looking for a lease extension, so we contacted our freehold company and they came back with a quote that was double the amount and half the extension time that the lease extension calculator provided. Is there anyway, without racking up a huge legal bill, we can ask the freehold company to provide their computation of the amount and how they derived to it?
