Questions and Answers: Barton Le Clay Lease Extensions
I’m looking for lease extension for our apartment based in Barton Le Clay and we are confused by the letter that we got from our freehold company. How long will it take?
We have seen a house for sale for £185,000 and we are very interested but we've just discovered that it is leasehold. There are 798 years residual lease term so a lease extension is not an issue. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this correct? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without the house being ours. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I am looking into the costs of carrying out a lease extension for my studio flat in Barton Le Clay, and would like some figures on that.
I have my suspicions that my daughter might have had the wool pulled over her eyes. She put in an offer on a ground floor flat in Barton Le Clay, where the lease is nearly 64 years but she was told by the estate agents that the owner had extended it to 125 years. Only now has she been advised the homeowner was waiting for her to retain solicitors ahead of instigating the lease extension. Sounds odd to me, also it will take months to sort it all out. Am I reading too much into it?
We have a residential flat in Barton Le Clay with seventy six years unexpired. Ten months ago we were quoted a deal to receive a lease extension for another 25 years but also uplift the ground rent from notional to a little more..plus a premium I think of about 16k. We have now decided to go ahead but do we now have to start the negotiations again?
My apartment in Barton Le Clay is up for sale and I have a hopefully firm offer. There is 82 years remaining on the lease and I want a lease extension. How much does it cost on average to extend in this area by, say, fifty years
My wife and I had entered into buying a studio flat in Barton Le Clay. I was informed that the lease had been extended (fivety seven years left prior to extension). The sales particulars stated "sold with a long lease". It turns out at the point of exchange of contracts we find that the lease has not been extended. The seller apparently has a quote but no money to extend and consequently the seller wants to exchange and use the 10% deposit for the lease extension. My question is how is possible that the estate agent got it so wrong?
I'm living at parents but have a ground floor flat in Barton Le Clay let out which has a 79 year lease. Mortgage broker said I can remortgage as a buy to let instead of consent to let and release 55-60k which on top of a new mortgage based on my income. Not much about in Barton Le Clay for me to get my own place. If I sell I will only get 150-160 due to tenant (8 months left on AST) and lease. A lease extension will cost 19k. Should I keep or sell the flat?
Just been over two years that I have been in my garden flat in Barton Le Clay. I have sixety one yrs remaining on the lease. I am now looking either to purchase a share of freehold or a lease extension. I purchased the property for 342K, it is now roughly 425k. I understand that 90 years is the period most people extend. I spoke to my conveyancers about the process, he answered most of my questions but just have one left: Is there a benefit in getting a Barton Le Clay based lawyers or any will do fine?
