I’ve just completed on a maisonette based inArchway and I'm deliberating a lease extension as soon as I can e.g. after 24 months of ownership
We have seen a house for sale for £195k and we are very keen on but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 899 years outstanding so a lease extension is not required. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without owning the property. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
We are selling our studio flat in Archway but we may need to extend the lease, or possibly cover the expense of our buyers. Are you able to recommend someone to assist?
We are in a building containing three flats in Archway and have been offered to buy the freehold for £3,500 per flat rather than go for lease extensions. We are all in agreement that we want to do this but how do we get started and what is the likely cost?
I am looking into the costs of carrying out a lease extension for my maisonette in Archway, and would like some figures on that.
We bought a leasehold with a landlord who has failed to give us a counter-notice for a lease extension for our flat in Archway and are therefore considering the option of a vesting order. Is this something you can do for us?
I will soon view a one bedroom flat, although not exactly my ideal property it has enough positives to suit me very well for my present circumstances. However after obtaining a copy of the title I've learnt that it only has seventy one years outstanding on the lease. It is also a repo so I'm assuming that the vendor will not be interested in extending the lease. My primary concern is would the short lease make it difficult to secure a mortgage?
Just been over 2 years that I have been in my ground floor flat in Archway. I have 60 yrs left on the lease. I am now looking either to purchase a share of freehold or extend my lease. I purchased the property for 320K, it is now roughly 425k. I understand that 90 years is the period most people extend. I spoke to my conveyancing practitioners about the process, he answered most of my questions but just have one left: What can I expect in terms of legal charges for a lease extension? Are they usually fixed or tend to increase over time (i.e. if the process goes to the tribunal etc)?
I have 75 years remaining on my lease of a ground floor flat in Archway, the Landlord requires a £25k premium for a statutory lease extension of 90yrs. I am looking for advice on whether this amount is acceptable
I'm looking for some advice with regard to a lease extension on my garden flat in Archway. I'll be looking to do this sometime next year as we need to move at some point then. Unfortunately the current lease is now very short and therefore I'm guessing it'll be expensive to extend. I'm also thinking that I'll probably have to go down the tribunal route. Can you recommend a good property lawyers who specialises in lease extensions?
