My wife has a flat located in Aldridge which we are about to put on the market. The leasehold has just over 56 years residual lease term on it and we are concerned this will come up for anyone who may be interested. I am after more information on how we get started on a lease extension? Many thanks.
We have seen a house for sale for £185,000 and we are very interested but we've just found out that it is leasehold. There are 798 years remaining so a lease extension is not a concern. We didn't know what this meant but the internet suggests we wouldn't own the land or property, just the lease to live there. Is this true? We wouldn't want to pay a mortgage for 25 years without the house being ours. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I am looking for a lawyers in Aldridge and they should be on the Skipton Building Society approved conveyancers panel as we need a lease extension and remortgage simultaneously. Can you recommend a conveyancing practitioners ?
We have a GFF based in Aldridge. There is eighty years unexpired on the lease and we want a lease extension. What will it likely cost to get a lease extension by, say,35 years
We would like to extend our lease having owned the property for 2 years as of 22nd April 2015. It has about fivety five years remaining currently. Hoping to get a lease extension by another 90 years as expeditiously and stress free as possible.
We had entered into buying a three bed flat in Aldridge. I was advised by the EA that the lease extension had already been completed while on a viewing (55 years unexpired lease prior to extension). The sales particulars stated "sold with a long lease". It transpires at the point of exchange of contracts we find that there has been no lease extension. The owner supposedly has a quote but no funds to extend as a result the owner intends to exchange and use the 10% deposit to extend the lease. My question is have the estate agents breached any law by misrepresenting the position concerning the lease term?
My lawyers (separately handling my lease extension) said I need a licence to alter given that I wish to carry out a loft extension to my property. Is this strictly required given that I have a share of the freehold. I've informally discussed the loft conversion with my co-freeholder some time ago and he had no objection once I reassured him that if my builder damages the roof I won't expect the co-freeholder to pay for future repairs to the roof. Assuming I need formal consent should I get the licence to alter and then start the lease extension process?

My partner and I have been in discussion with our freeholder after having a valuation on our 2 bed flat in Aldridge. We have a 68 year lease and we wish to increase this to 99. The Freeholder has provided us with a financial figure that she is happy with to accept for the extension of the lease, which we are happy with as well and wish to proceed. All we need now is a conveyancers to handle this for us. Can you please provide me what your costs would be to act on our behalf.
